Connect your website to Nevian
Paste the Nevian tracking script once in your pages, so every visit, checkout click and sale is tied to the ad that brought the visitor.
What you need
- Access to edit your pages: the page builder's settings or your site's code.
- A Nevian workspace. Installing the script doesn't need a plan, and anyone in the workspace can copy it.
- The address of one page of your funnel, to check the installation.
Steps
-
In Nevian, open Setup and tools › Tracking script. In Universal tracking script, click Copy. The same line works on every page and every domain.
-
Paste it inside the
<head>of every page of your funnel: landing pages, offer pages and thank-you pages. Page builders call this place Header code, Tracking code or Custom code (head). Save and publish.
-
Back in Nevian, type the address of one of those pages in Check a page and click Check page.
-
The result says Installed when the script is in the
<head>with your workspace key. It also lists the checkout links on the page: the script adds the click ID to them, so each sale comes back to its click.
-
Open your page in a private window with
?bt_test=1at the end of the address. In Live view you show up within seconds, marked Test and kept out of your reports.
Check that it works
- The Universal tracking script card says Receiving page views with the time of the last one.
- On your test visit, click the buy button: Initiate checkout appears in your trail in Live view.
- Next, connect your checkout in Integrations and add Nevian's parameters to your ads. See Connect Meta Ads to Nevian.
Problems
"Not found"
Nevian opened the page and didn't see the script. Check that you published the page after pasting, that the address is the published one, and that no cache plugin is still serving the old version.
"Found in <body>"
It works there, but in the <head> it runs before visitors can click. Move it to the head field of your page builder.
"Another workspace key"
The page has a script from another Nevian workspace. Replace it with the line from this workspace's Tracking script page.
Buy buttons that run code or open your own redirect
The script decorates links that go straight to a supported checkout. If your button runs code, or opens your own redirect page first, add data-bt-checkout to the button: its click records Initiate checkout and links get btk= with the click ID, to pass on to the checkout. The bt.js reference at the end of the Tracking script page lists every attribute.
