Connect BuyGoods to Nevian

Time needed: about 5 minutesLast updated:

Send every BuyGoods purchase and refund you earn a commission on to Nevian with a global postback pixel, so each sale shows up next to the ad that brought the buyer.

What you need

  • A BuyGoods affiliate account. Selling your own products on BuyGoods? Follow If you are the vendor.
  • The BuyGoods offer in Nevian's Offers, with your affiliate link as the offer URL (see Check that it works for the click ID).
  • A Nevian workspace with an active plan (Beginner, Pro or Enterprise), where you are the owner, an admin or a member. Viewers can't connect integrations.
  • The two tabs side by side: Nevian on Integrations and BuyGoods.

Steps

  1. In Nevian, open Integrations, click Add integration (Connect provider when nothing is connected yet) and pick BuyGoods. In the Connect BuyGoods window, have the platform open in another tab, then click Next to get your private URL.

The Connect BuyGoods window in Nevian, with the Next button highlighted.
  2. Nevian creates your private Postback URL, already filled with BuyGoods's macros ({ORDERID}, {COMMISSION_AMOUNT}, {SUBID} to {SUBID5} and more). Click the copy button and leave this window open.

The Postback URL with BuyGoods macros in the Connect BuyGoods window, with its copy button highlighted.
  3. In BuyGoods, open Profile › Postback Pixels and click Add New. A pixel here is global: it fires for every offer you promote.

BuyGoods's Postback Pixels page opened from Profile, with the Add New button highlighted.
  4. Paste the URL in URL, keep Status on Active and choose Purchase in Event. Click Test, then Save.

BuyGoods's Edit Postback pixel form with the Nevian URL, Status Active and Event Purchase, and the Test button highlighted.
  5. Click Add New once more for refunds: paste the same URL, change event=purchase at its start to event=refund, choose the refund event in Event and click Save. If the list also has chargebacks, add a third pixel with event=chargeback.

A second postback pixel in BuyGoods with event=refund in the URL, the refund event chosen and the Save button highlighted.
  6. Back in Nevian, click Next after copying the URL or code to open the test step. The line turns Connected as soon as the test arrives. Click Done.

The Connect BuyGoods window in Nevian showing Connected after the test, with the Done button highlighted.

If you are the vendor

Vendors get every order by IPN instead. Do steps 1 and 2 above, then:

  1. In BuyGoods, click the Setup icon and click Settings under Products.

BuyGoods's Setup page, with the Settings link of the Products section highlighted.
  2. On the Global IPNs tab, paste the URL in each field and change event=purchase to the field's event: New order URL purchase, Recurring charge URL rebill, Order refund URL refund, Order cancel URL cancel and Order chargeback URL chargeback. Click Save, then place a test order.

BuyGoods's Global IPNs tab with the Nevian URL in the five fields, each with its own event, and the Save button highlighted.

Check that it works

  • The BuyGoods card in Integrations says Connected and shows the time of the last event.
  • Logs › Webhooks lists each call exactly as BuyGoods sent it, the test included.
  • For real sales, the click ID has to reach BuyGoods in a sub ID of your affiliate link. In Offers, open the BuyGoods offer and click Add subid={clickid} (or use subid2 to subid5 if subid is taken). BuyGoods sends it back as {SUBID}.
  • The affiliate postback carries only your commission, in US dollars, and no test flag: if a test shows up in Logs › Conversions, open it and click Mark as test (owners and admins). A vendor test order is marked as a test on its own.

Problems

"Waiting for the first postback…" doesn't change

BuyGoods hasn't called the URL yet. Open the pixel in Profile › Postback Pixels, check that URL has the whole URL and that Status is Active, and click Test again.

"BuyGoods reached Nevian, but the call was rejected"

The reason under the line names what is missing, such as "Missing order={ORDERID} in the BuyGoods postback URL". It happens when the URL was cut or a macro was changed. Copy the URL again from the integration's Connection tab and paste it over the old one, changing only the word after event=.

"no matching click" on a real sale

The buyer reached BuyGoods without the click ID. Check that the offer URL in Offers has subid={clickid} written in lowercase (BuyGoods expects lowercase sub IDs in the link and the uppercase macros in the postback), and that your ads use the Nevian tracking link.

Purchases counted twice

The same URL is also on an offer's own postback pixel. Keep only the global pixel from step 3 and delete the one in the offer's settings.

BuyGoods explains its pixels in its own Setting Up Tracking Pixels article.
